Blockchain is one of the drivers for the fourth industrial revolution. And South Korea is considered as one of the leaders that can commercialize blockchain early on the ground of its past 20 years of experiences in ICT development. The brief, however, claims that outdated regulations and policy guidelines will retard the development of blockchain, and suggests that regulations should be reformed to pave the pathway to blockchain-ready industry before they face with serious challenges to the fourth industrial revolution. The brief was shared with global leaders who participated in the Asia Session at the Summer Davos of the World Economic Forum (Beijing, China, 18 - 20 September 2018), and initiated the research collaboration between Korea and the World Economic Form, which finally concluded the contract of collaboration in July 2019.
